Trusc’s application to install fibre into the towns in the Swartland area, and hence provide free Educational Internet to scholars, is being blocked by Swartland Municipality.

Since 2019 approval has been in place for a particular local provider to install fibre in Malmesbury. Sadly, this advantage has only been used to make a tiny number of the upper market areas live which provide a high return while the REST of the Swartland community has been suffering and is still prevented from receiving this service by more competitive providers.

All along Trusc has been trying to install its own fibre so that we can be able to supply the people of Malmesbury free access to Educational content. We requested permission in Malmesbury, Moorreesburg, Darling, Riebeeck West and Riebeeck Kasteel, all were denied saying they were already issued when in fact they were not.
